Wagner Group mercenaries appear near Kyiv

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reports that Putin's private army of Wagner Group mercenaries (now called Liga) have been seen on the western outskirts of the capital Kyiv.

Their departure from Syria was previously reported by American Defense News.

According to the ISW, Russian forces are using siege-and-starve tactics in the Kyiv suburbs of Irpin, Bucha, Hostomel.

More than two million people have fled Ukraine since Russia invaded the country on Feb 24.
