How is Ukraine's Air Force Still Battling Russia?
While vastly outnumbered it's still flying, and fighting. But they need more jets
Operating covertly from air strips in western Ukraine, other airports and airfields that have been bombed yet still have enough runway for takeoffs or landings – or even from highways, the vastly outnumbered Ukrainian Air Force is still flying, and fighting.
But it is doing so at a much reduced capacity, reports the New York Times, and at a fraction of the operational tempo of the Russian Air Force, which is reportedly flying some 200 sorties per day, while Ukraine flies 5 to 10 missions daily.
Still, this is a remarkable Ukrainian achievement that NATO need to aggressively support.
