Week Three of Bloodshed and Destruction

Today Russian jets hit the central Ukrainian city of Dnipro on Friday while rockets pounded two military airfields in Lutsk and Ivano-Frankivsk in the west.

The Ukrainian military claimed a Russian tank commander was killed in an attack in the town of Brovary, near Kyiv.

Meanwhile satellite images provided by Maxar Technologies show the Russian military column threatening the capital from the north had dispersed to new positions.

This could signify they are prepping for an assault on the capital.

In the south, the RIA news agency quoted Russia’s defence ministry as saying that Russian-backed separatists have captured the Ukrainian city of Volnovakha, which is strategically important as the northern gateway to Mariupol.

Russia's state-run TASS news agency reported that about 222,000 people have been evacuated to Russia from Ukraine and its two Russian-backed rebel regions.
